For years, the domestic CT X-ray tube market was monopolized by foreign companies. Recognizing its strategic significance, China has consecutively listed CT X-ray tube development as a national priority in its 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015),13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) and 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025)

The government has actively encouraged local enterprises to achieve self-sufficient R&D in CT X-ray tubes—a critical step toward localizing core medical equipment components and resolving 'chokepoint' technological bottlenecks

Kunshan Yiyuan emerged as a pioneer in this mission. After over two years of factory construction,production line design and equipment installation and debugging

The new facility now boasts an annual production capacity of 7,000–10,000 CT X-ray tubes—catering to over 90% of the tube model requirements from domestic CT manufacturers.

Kunshan Yiyuan pursues a dual technological strategy combining independent R&D and reverse engineering, while establishing robust industry-academia-research partnerships with leading institutions including the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, and University of Electronic Science and Technology of China.
